Abstract

It was shown that in patients referred to orthodontic treatment, with metabolic syndrome and chronic general-ized periodontitis, a reduced gum barrier protection was observed, accompanied by increased permeability of the gum, impaired functional state of its microcapillary bed, in which capillaries were spasmodic due to chewing load, as well as a significant percentage excess rate of fat me-tabolism, leading to a number of negative processes in the body that complicate the prevention and treatment of pa-thology periodontal tissues, including bone tissue. The use of the developed treatment-and-prophylactic complex for supporting orthodontic treatment in patients led to a certain normalization of the functional state of the microcapillary bed of the gum, to a decrease in the de-gree of inflammatory processes in it, and indicators of fat mass, which correlated with an improvement in their den-tal status.
