RESULTS OF CLINICAL EXAMINATION OF PATIENTS WITH INFLAMMATORY PERIODONTAL TISSUE DISEASES ON THE BACKGROUND OF ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT

One of the most common methods of treating anomalies of the dental system is the use of various orthodontic struc-tures, which can be either removable or non-removable.
The purpose of our research. Study and evaluation of periodontal tissue condition in patients during orthodon-tic treatment.
Research material and methods. To achieve this goal, we conducted a comprehensive examination of patients aged 18-25 years who were undergoing orthodontic treatment using fixed equipment.
There were 65 women, which was 57.5 %, and 48 men, which was 42.5 %. All the examined patients were divided into 2 groups depending on the duration of orthodontic treatment. In each group of patients, a clinical examina-tion was performed with the collection of anamnesis of the disease, and the condition of periodontal tissues was studied by index evaluation.
The results of research and their discussion. It is note-worthy that the vast majority of patients with causal bleeding (almost 80 %) had a symptom only during brushing their teeth, 5 % had bleeding only when taking solid food, and 10 patients had bleeding both when brush-ing their teeth and when taking solid food
The data of comparison of dental morbidity of patients of the examined groups showed that the most common pa-thologies during orthodontic treatment are dental caries and its complications and chronic catarrhal gingivitis
Conclusions. Clinical studies and analysis of periodontal tissues have shown a high level of prevalence of their le-sions among patients undergoing orthodontic treatment.
