Abstract

The aim was to study the effectiveness of sublingual Imudon and Quertigial applications in the complex treat-ment of chronic generalized periodontitis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Materials and methods. Dental examination and treat-ment of 80 patients aged 24 to 66 years with rheumatoid arthritis and concomitant 2nd stage of chronic general-ized periodontitis had been performed. Patients were di-vided into 4 groups: group 1 used sublingual Imudon in addition to the standard treatment, group 2 – applications of Quertgial gel with standard therapy, group 3 – a com-bination of sublingual Imudon and Quertigial applica-tions with standard treatment, group 4 patients – tradi-tional therapy for chronic generalized periodontitis alone.
Research results and discussion. The major factors that influence the condition of periodontal tissues immediately after treatment of periodontitis in patients with rheuma-toid arthritis are the existing bacterial flora and local immunity markers. The most effective treatment regimen for second stage of chronic generalized periodontitis in patients with rheumatoid arthritis was the combination of sublingual Imudon and Quertigial applications in addi-tion to standard treatment.
