ANALYSIS OF THE DENTAL CARIES MORBIDITY IN CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS WITH PSYCHONEUROLOGICAL DISORDERS

Purpose of the study. To study the prevalence and intensity of dental caries in children and adolescents with psychoneurological disorders living in boarding houses of Snyatinsky district, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Research methods. In order to solve the tasks of the research and realize its goal, we carried out a dental clinical examination of the pupils of psychoneurological boarding schools in Snyatyn city and the village Dolishne Zaluchcha, Ivano-Frankivsk region. Totally 257 subjects aged 6-15 years with various psychoneurological disorders were examined. An index assessment of the condition of the hard tissues of the teeth was carried out. Scientific novelty. Monitoring of the dental examination data of 257 children with a general history of psychoneurological diseases showed that 96.49±1.93% of the examined had caries with a predominance of the decompensated form. It was noted that the prevalence of caries in boys and girls, on average, was almost the same, 96.59±2.85 and 96.36±2.60%, respectively. The maximum caries prevalence values were studied in the age group of 13-15 years, which was equal to 100%. Regarding the intensity of dental caries, the CFE index, on average, was interpreted as high with a value of 11.46±0.15. Conclusions. The fact of high prevalence and very high intensity of dental caries in children and adolescents with psychoneurological disorders has been established. The prevalence of dental caries in examined children of different age groups with psychoneurological disorders approached 100%.
