PREVALENCE, INTENSITY OF CLINICAL MANIFESTATION AND DYNAMICS OF DEVELOPMENT OF PARTIAL DENTITION DEFECTS IN PERSONS AGED 15-19 YEARS IN UKRAINE

Abstract

Purpose of the work. Providing a comparative description of the prevalence and intensity of clinical manifestations of dental defects in people aged 15-19 years, based on the materials of dental examinations conducted in 1995, 2012 and 2021 in the southern and western regions of Ukraine (8-10) in compliance with the same methodological approaches for their implementation. Materials and methods. In 1995, 273 people were examined in Odessa, in 2012-80 and in 2021-332 and in Ivano ‒ Frankivsk, respectively-282, 47 and 294. all initial data of the clinical examination were entered in the unified "diagnostic card of examination of a dental orthopedic patient", which consisted of 3 sections. In the 1st Section, information on surgical and therapeutic morbidity was recorded, in the 2nd-orthopedic and orthodontic pathology, and in the 3rd ‒ the proposed types of Orthopedic Care. Research results. Based on the main goal of this work, the frequency of occurrence of dental defects in the youngest age group of 15-19 years is associated with their removal. Even at first glance, the presence of some relevant patterns is quite noticeable. There is, regardless of the period of examination, a fairly significant prevalence of dental defects and, especially, their number in these individuals and their sharp increase over time. Thus, their distribution increased in the southern region by 2.7 times and in the western region by 1.9 times. At the same time, the absolute indicators for the western region exceed the southern region by 1.6 times. As for their volume, it increased by 7.4 and 2.6 times, respectively, and is at the level of 805.6 and 913.4 defects, respectively, per 1000 people. A more significant degree of information content of indicators of their clinical manifestation in comparison with the prevalence is comprehensively proved.
