THE EFFECT OF THE "VIOLET" ORAL GEL ON THE BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF BLOOD AND PERIODONTAL TISSUES IN THE CONDITIONS OF EXPERIMENTAL PERIODONTITIS

Abstract

Purpose of the work. Экспериментальное изучение на токсической кальций-дефицитной модели антиокси-дантных свойств геля для полости рта «Фиалка»
Materials and methods of research. The experiment was performed on white laboratory rats weighing 160-180 g, which were kept on a standard diet. Experimental model-ing of periodontal pathology against the background of a calcium-deficient state was carried out according to the following scheme:
- animals were given EDTA solution (2%) daily with drinking water and three times a week were administered per os drug "Warfarin Orion" by firm Orion Corporation, Finland (vitamin K antagonist) at a dose of 5 mg/kg (in terms of the active substance warfarin sodium-0.01 mg/kg) for 30 days. 4 groups were formed: 1 group-intact animals (8 individuals); 2 group – "model" (8 individu-als); 3 group - "model" + starting from the 7th day, daily, for 3 weeks, applying Placebo gel to the gum (8 individu-als); 4 group – "model"+ starting from the 7th day, daily, for 3 weeks, applying Violet gel to the gum (8 individu-als). The animals were removed from the experiment and the level of inflammatory markers was studied: the con-tent of malondialdehyde, the activity of glutathione perox-idase, glutathione reductase, glucose-6-phosphate dehy-drogenase, superoxide dismutase and catalase, and diene conjugation.
Conclusions. The used model of periodontitis with the combined administration of the drug "warfarin" and 2 % EDTA solution caused inflammatory processes in the blood and in the periodontal tissues in animals, which is confirmed by changes in the system of pro-and antioxi-dant protection.
The use of placebo did not reveal significant positive ef-fects in relation to the animals of the 2nd group. And the use of the "Violet" gel showed significant positive general and local effects directly in the periodontal tissues, which were expressed in the stabilization of anti-radical protec-tion indicators.
