OBTAINING IMPRESSIONS FROM IMPLANT LEVEL UNDER CONDITIONS OF PICK-UP TRANSFERS WEDGING

Abstract

The goal of treatment of dental prosthodontic patients with the use of dental implants is their prosthodontic rehabilitation. For a successful and long-term rehabilitation result, the maximum accuracy of transferring the position of the implant to the model for prosthesis fabrication is necessary. Objective. To describe the technique of obtaining impressions from implant level under conditions of pick-up transfers wedging. Materials and methods. An online search of published scientific works related to the problem of obtaining impressions from implant level under conditions of pick-up transfers wedging. was conducted. Modification of technique, which was obtained through an online search by the authors of this article. Presentation of the main material. The authors of this article proposed and described a variant of the technique that can be used to obtain impressions when wedging of impression pick-up transfers occur. When using this technique, the impression pick-up transfers are securely held in the impression material and do not deform it when the impression is removed from the oral cavity. Conclusions. For a successful and long-term result of the rehabilitation of patients in the clinic of prosthodontic dentistry using dental implants, maximum accuracy of transferring the position of the implant to the model for the manufacture of the prosthesis is required. Due to the possible effect of “cold welding”, wedging of the impression transfer in the implant may occur, which will lead to deformation of the impression material or even prevent the impression from being obtained by classical methods. With the help of the simple method described in this article for obtaining impressions by the method of an open tray using the impression material for registration of occlusion and a liquid composite of light polymerization, it is possible to exclude the possibility of mobility of transfers in the impression and to obtain a high-quality impression when wedging impression transfers.
