COMPARATIVE ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF MODERN ADHESIVES FOR FIXATION OF REMOVABLE DENTAL DENTURES ON BIOCHEMICAL MARKERS OF PATIENTS’ ORAL FLUID

To improve the fixation of removable dentures, adhesivecreams are used, the use of which increases the functionalvalue of dentures and significantly accelerates adaptationto dentures. Fixing gels are used all over the world, butstudies of their effectiveness and biocompatibility have ledto contradictory conclusions, which makes the conducted studies relevant. Purpose of the study. Evaluation of theeffect of various creams for fixing dentures on biochemical markers of inflammation, antioxidant, antimicrobial protection and bacterial contamination in the oral fluidof patients. Research methods. The studies involved 75volunteer patients (50 women and 25 men) aged 45 to 74 years, who used removable dentures made of acrylic plastic. The material of the study was modern fixing creams “Lacalut Fix. Extra strong fixation, neutral taste”,“Corega. Extra strong, classic”, “Corega. Extra strong,neutral taste”, “Protefix. Extra strong, with long-term fixing effect”. For comparative evaluation of the means,the activity of lysozyme, elastase, urease, catalase, concentration of malondialdehyde were determinedin the oral fluid, and the antioxidant-prooxidant indexwas calculated. Statistical processing of the results was performed by the variational-statistical method ofanalysis using the STATISTICA 6.1 program. Scientificnovelty. The results of biochemical studies of the oralfluid of patients with removable dental lamellar prostheses showed the advantages of the fixing cream “Lacalut Fix.Extra Strong Fixation”, under the influence of which a greater increase in nonspecific antimicrobial protection,a decrease in microbial contamination, a decrease in theintensity of inflammation and lipid peroxidation processeswith simultaneous activation of antioxidant protection was established, which indicates its high antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effectiveness. Conclusions.The results obtained indicate the feasibility of using additional adhesive agents by patients with removable dentures, namely the cream “Lacalut Fix. Extra Strong Fixation”.
