CLINICAL COMPARISON OF WHITENING SYSTEMS EFFICIENCY AT PATIENTS WITH DENTAL TISSUES DISCOLORATION

Abstract

In recent years, cosmetic dentistry has become increasingly popular in our country, as beautiful and white teeth are an element of modern culture, a symbol of youth, health, beauty and success. Teeth discoloration is a very common and multifactorial hard tissue pathology associated with discoloration of enamel and dentin of teeth and is an urgent problem at dentistry associated with aesthetic defects. The need for esthetic dentistry is due to the high prevalence of dental diseases and bad habits that lead to discoloration of the teeth hard tissues. A considerable number of different means have been proposed effective teeth whitening, which allow us to change the color of teeth relatively quickly. Purpose of the study. The aim of the work was to compare the effectiveness of different whitening systems during treatment at patients with discoloration of the hard tissues of the teeth. Research methods. All our patients receive general clinical methods of examination, such as: X-ray evaluation of the tooth-jaw system and assessment of individual oral hygiene – determination of the index of oral hygiene (OHI-S). We have examined 140 patients with discolor of the hard tissues of the teeth, aged from 18 to 49 years and divided into 5 clinical groups. It was the patients of 4-th group for whom we used the latest bleaching system “Beyond”, which meets international standards and is registered in Ukraine. Patients immediately after whitening experience a significant improvement of tooth color and get rid of a few daily selfuse of whitening home systems. Particular attention was paid to psychological research methods – questionnaires with developed by us questionnaire. Conclusions. The results of the clinical study indicate the feasibility of using modern whitening systems that significantly improve both the aesthetic requirements of our patients and qualitative changes in psycho-emotional state in particular.
